What are your annual fees used for? Your annual fees are used to maintain the common areas of the subdivision (esplanades, clubhouse, swimming pool, tennis courts, playground, etc.) as well as to monitor and enforce the Covenants of the subdivision. Each year a new budget is complied, reviewed and accepted by the Board of Directors. The annual budget process, as well as meeting the demands placed upon the HOA as required to maintain the subdivision ultimately determines the rate which we all, as homeowners in Ashton Village, must pay to the HOA. Each year the costs of utilities, labor & materials continues to rise. The Board of Directors has made every effort to adjust expenses to avoid increasing the annual dues for us all. Recent efforts include sourcing a new electrical service provider, switching trash service providers down to board members printing their own meeting materials and performing basic tasks such as painting playground equipment on Saturdays to delivering materials to homeowners doors rather than mailing. This website is also a donation of much time and effort donated to the HOA by a board member. You can do your part. Pay your annual dues in a timely manner. The Board of Directors recently established a method for our residents to pay their annual dues (and other fees) via credit card (to pay your fees by credit card, contact VanMor Properties) You can also keep your dues low by ensuring that your property is in compliance with all of the Covenants (Deed Restrictions) of the association. The Association is legally liable to each homeowner for enforcement of the Covenants, therefore, each time the association must send a letter to a homeowner to mow their lawn, remove stored items from their driveway, etc., and in extreme situations, file a lawsuit to force compliance or payment of annual fees, it ends up costing each of us by increasing costs and thus the fees we must pay each year. It's in our personal financial best interests to avoid exposing the HOA to such expenditures. Additionally, a property located in a neighborhood in which all homeowners maintain full compliance is naturally worth more to prospective buyers. Beginning with the launch of this website, the annual budget, as well as proposals for major items will be posted on the links below.
